What if, what is happening is exactly what is supposed to happen? Hold on… hear me out!
This week has been wracked with things not working out for people I love. It’s not appropriate to say “everything will work out just fine.” Their pain for their situation is real. But what I wonder is …. even though the situations are terribly inconvenient, what if it is exactly what is supposed to happen for your next? I was reminded of a time I was supposed to move. Changed everything over to the new address, packed, had people coming to help us move…and the landlord wouldn’t give us the keys. He said his wife died in that house and he just couldn’t rent it after all. WHAT? A similar thing happened to my daughter this week. Which is what reminded me of this. What happened was I was able to get into a farm that was more than I could ever dream of. It was a TERRIBLE inconvenience and when I was at the Post Office changing the address back I ran into a friend who so kindly said “well it was meant to be.” That didn’t set well with me. So how do we respond when people are telling us these struggles and we know it will all work out? We listen, and listen some more. Then we validate!!! That must be so hard!!! How are you holding up? It’s not our job to fix… just be a friend.
